Member. Membership shall be open to all licensed attorneys, approved by a majority of the Officers, who devote or have in the past devoted a significant portion of their billable hours to the preparation of mineral and oil and gas title opinions (“Member”). Membership may also include retired attorneys who maintain membership in the Association for five (5) years prior to retirement. Each Member shall pay annual dues as established by the Officers in an amount the Officers deem appropriate to conduct meetings and otherwise meet DAOGTL operating needs. Unless other arrangements have been made with the Treasurer, failure to pay dues within a reasonable time, and after reasonable notice, may be considered by the Officers as a ground to terminate membership of the person in default.
Associate Member. Membership shall be open to all licensed attorneys, approved by a majority of the Officers, who while not devoting a significant portion of their billable hours to the preparation of mineral and oil and gas title opinions, they are engaged in support of mineral-related legal work, professional landman work, or corporate work, and who meet all the requirements stated herein (“Associate Member”). An Associate Member, unless serving as an Officer or Trustee, will not be able to vote but will be able to attend DAOGTL functions at Member rates.
